Maomao
Maomao is a creamy probiotic soda inspired by drinks like Yakult and Calpico. Drawing from traditional asian flavors with a twist, the brand aims to reflect the familiar and playful attitude of sharing drinks with a friend.
Playful illustrations of cats in wacky positions tie the branding together with their hand-drawn feel. Simply too hot to function, they are in desperate need of a nice cold and creamy drink to cool off, (just what Maomao brings)!
Originally a short university assignment, the branding was redesigned utilizing changes in typography, extended label copy, and a refined color palette. The current design now puts forward a more mature paw forward, while remaining true to its original lighthearted spirit. Previous iterations can be seen below, in addition to iterations on the current visual language.
